AER Deliverance Tournament, 2009

The IKV Deliverance held another Tournament this year in conjunction with and with fruitful collusion with the IKV Qin Vagh way the Grethor up there in west Arkansas. This cooperation needs to continue as it definitely advances klindom within the southern sphere of influence. As with last year, this was a great event involving multiple states and multiple ships. Turnout was even better than last year even though we lost out of a few regulars this time.

The IKV Bayou Serpent (LA) had three attending and the IKV Melota (TX) had two. The hosts, of course, outnumbered us as the IKV Qin Vagh brought a solid contingent and Tanqa was *home* for the weekend!!!!! Kai, Tanqa!!!
Texans may have outnumbered the other states represented, but please understand that Texans of all ships can and will really drive a long way to make excrement happen.
Even so, I salute all who participated.
The weather for the arrival on Friday was mildly rainy and survivable. After a challenging drive up in the rain, the Melota members crashed to be ready for the morrow. At least it was not really bad weather.

In the morning, there was a great fellowship in the brutal and friendly sense. There was a damn good Tournament with good combat.
The fighting was good. The combat went well.
Just one serious casualty as Ripar took a good hit that forced him out of play, dammit. His was not the only hit of note. Just the most debilitating. Salutes to those to fought, took hits, and kept going without whinging. This Tournament had none of that non-sense.

There was a disrupter challenge for those interested. I could not participate due to twin surgeries though I must applaud Dragen of the Lost Shoe for his stoic return afterwards.

FEAST!!!! Damn does the Deliverance know food!!!!!

Then an evening of fun, BS, stories, and comparing communicator fodder.

Alas, the morning comes too soon and with it the requirement to return to our home areas.

Please consider coming to the next event in West Arkansas. It is well worth it.

I close giving thanks to our land hosts of the IKVD, CF and Tanqa. I give thanks to the organizing hosts of the IKVQV. We all pretty much dodged "she who must be obeyed" and had a good time together.

enzil za!!!

Strength and Honor,
Salek
Ship's Brewer, IKV Melota
