AER: Good Day to Dine, December 2006 The Lone Star Warrior's Association held its periodic Good Day to Dine on December 31st at Olive Garden. Attending were warriors from the KAG ship IKV Melota, the Starfleet vessel USS Trinity River, and some independent guests. Turnout was a good 15 considering that it was also New Years Eve with all of the planning and parties that that day requires.



The service at Olive Garden was very good. We arrived particularly early so that we could all move on to NYE parties later on. Arriving at 1600, we had a tag team of a couple of waits that provided excellent service. The service was quite good considering how busy that they later became as the restaurant filled. The waiter and waitress were both very much into the swing of things. We had desserts delivered that had "Kapla" (sic) spelled in chocolate syrup among other things. They took the ribbing and kidding quite well as they were both young and good looking and thus a target for mild mannered jokes about bringing home "servants". The food and appetizers were also well worth the cost.



I realize now that I don't have pictures of the waits and they deserve to be shown on this page. They certainly earned it given that they tolerated us with finess.

The uniformed members voted upon the Riglea Movie Tavern as the next location with the intention of making a Sunday Matinee. The nearby Spring Creek BBQ was voted as a backup in case all of the movies were sold out. Thus final time/movie or backup plan shall be determined much closer to the actual date.
