Personal Log: Good Day to Dine, July 2011

On a very hot July 31st, I donned my heavy armor to go to our new nearby restaurant, Babes Chicken. Squeeze drove as it is uncomfortable to drive in the heavy armor. The occasion was to participate in the Lone Star Warrior's Association's current installment of its Good Day to Dine.

This restaurant is in the original center of town, literally. At the corner of Center and U.S. 80, these two streets mark the zero zero point for house numbers in Arlington (TX).

Being a chicken place, it should not be a surprise that we mostly ate chicken. That gave an opportunity to compare against other chicken places for flavor and cooking. I find that if you go away hungry, it was your own fault. This place had a wonderful atmosphere and the service was quite different.
The indoor decor simulated that of being outside on your front porch at a family picnic.
Groups had the food combined onto plates. Thus, if two people bought chicken fingers, they had to split what came on the chicken finger plate. The veggies were great and bottomless as was the salad.

I repeat, if you go away hungry, you screwed up some how.

My only complaint would be the music volume. It was difficult to talk in there. Yes, food wise it is a great place to take the family or meet with friends. Just don't plan on talking.

Those present suggested various locations for the next GDtD which shall be Oktober 30th. Those in uniform voted for "A Taste of Europe", 1500 hours on Sunday the 30th.
Squeeze and I look forward to seeing you there.

It is 2100 on the day after the GDtD. At exactly 2100, my computer reports that it is 104 outside in the dark while Squeeze is outside cutting tiles for the kitchen remodelling project.
