AER: Good Day to Dine Nov, 2009

800*600

The KAG vessel IKV Melota attended the Lone Star Warrior's November Good Day to Dine at the Plano Spagetti Warehouse.

The food was very good. But, the conversation was even better.

We picked this location to raid a mundane club's meeting. We raided the local chapter of the Mars Society.

This was unique amongst our Good Days to Dine. While we normally avoid talking Ship stuff (work) and consider the GDtD a time to play, this was different even from that. This was the first time to talk real, hard core science with mundanes.

And believe me, these mundanes know their science. One of the agenda items was a report from the previous 24 hours about the "hard aground" Spirit and the latest attempt to move it off of its "reef". We got into technical discussions involving gravity, bone loss, heart strength and hydrodynamics just for a few.

This was intended to be a surprise, however, one of the members figured it out. At least he humored us by keeping mum.

Due to some confusion and bad memories, we did not quite vote upon the next location. Since all participants were IKV Melota members (bummer*) we are going to recon some venues and vote to post the next location.

*We miss our fellow DFW klingons who did not show. We all hope to see you at the next Good Day to Dine which shall be in January. Location, day, time to be determined based upon the recons.

Thank you, Mars Society for tolerating our raid on your meeting. You were great sports

I have sent it on. I am kind of waiting for the minutes of the meeting to see what they say, but I would like to extend our thanks for to the IKV Melota and it's crew for attending our meeting. You helped make it very enjoyable to us and adding stimulating conversation. Plus we will always like a chance to talk about Mars to new people! I know as a group we were very impressed with your intelligence, interest, and knowledge. From what most mudanes think about Klingons, I know you totally busted some preconceived notions. It takes intelligence to run an intersteller empire. Most people don't realize that.

There was talk around of returning the favor and going to one of your meetings (Not GDtD, but another time if you have them). We could talk more Mars and Space, give a presentation, or just be shown more of the Klingon ways. Several of our members come from the FW side of town.

To the Future - KaPlah!
