Personal Log: Guitar Hero Night

Personal Log: Guitar Hero Night

This was a personal event set to bring together members of the IKV Melota as well as mundane friends and family. Thus, it is being posted on the LEGACY IKV Melota website.

With the grill having been started about 1400, the participants gathered and ate about 1445. There was grilled chicken and salad for serious food and a lot of chips for fun food.

We started playing Guitar Hero with GH1. The succeeding versions get progressively harder because they assume that you beat the prior version. So, we started with the easiest and first.

After a bit, we switched to GH2 so that we could introduce additional songs that we love. We wandered to GH3 and played it until something went wrong in the program. It was weird, the music sounded off key. So we switch again to the 80's disk.

We played until our wrists were shot and at that point, an ignorable movie was put in so that we could watch or talk over it. We did both.

We discussed playing Magic, but opted to just talk and consume quantities of chips and soda.

This was the first of a series of summer events for when it is too hot to wear a uniform or play outside and it went over very well.

I hope that this inspires feelings and memories in others. I truly submit that those of us with white beards or white streaks in the hair should pull out those original toys from our childhood and re-live those days today. OK, so Guitar Hero did not exist in the sixties and seventies. It is still a fabulous toy to get people together.

Have FUN! Don't grow old. Grow experienced and know how to play.
