Personal Log: IKV Bayou Serpent's INformal Campout, Mar 2012

Squeeze and I traveled to familiar ground to fellowship in a casual manner with members of the IKV Bayou Serpent and IKV Deliverance.

This was a strictly informal event. Freestyle. Fight if you want. Don't if you don't. As it was, there was zero combat of any sort. We just had a great time hanging with each other for a couple of days.

The womenfolk also made a special field trip into town to hit some fabric shops while we menfolk broke in a 17L.

The nearest thing to planned was the Bloodwine Ceremony. Captain Ripar brewed a nice, sweet Bloodwine that went down well. It also went over well.

An interesting change was that after years of no protection from the elements, this time, two of us came prepared. Our scrawny camp and Nivek's awesome camp both had sun/rain protection. We had comfortable places to stay for the first time.

March 2-4, 2012, saw the IKV Bayou Serpent's first informal campout. This was done rather than have Venom Wars so that we could allow the IKV Deliverance to host a paintball event this spring without hurting attendance for either ship. It also gives us a chance to rest from having to put on a production and repair our facilities. The idea was that anything goes. If you want to play paintball then bring it. Same for hand-to-hand weapons. We chose to spend the weekend in fellowship rather than combat. We had no ceremonies and opened the bloodwine earlier than before. Everyone had a really good time just being in each other's company. We will be well rested for Deliverance Wars! In attendance were Ri'Par, Salek, sQueeze, K'Allen, Ni'Vek and parmachi, Kiral, Dragen and Amy.
